Pretty much every organization you talk to these days will tell you what makes them different is their people.  While most probably say this with the utmost sincerity – as do we! – The Vested Group has given a lot of thought to our differentiator and we are able to be a little more precise. Internally, we refer to The Vested Group as TVG and we’ve discovered what makes our people different is something we refer to as TVGenius.

What is TVGenius?

TVGenius, [tee-vee-jeen-yuhs], noun:

  1.  That unique set of superpowers each one of us has that make us brilliant or amazing. Sometimes this is easy to identify like coding skills or an uncanny encyclopedic knowledge of saved search wildcards, and sometimes more elusive like being able to diffuse a tense interaction merely by your tone of voice.
  2. That spark or flash of inspiration that pops up unintentionally and inexplicably wows everyone on your project team and beyond and consistently underscores who you are and why you fit in at The Vested Group so well.
  3. The only accurate answer to: where did he learn that? …how’d she come up with that? …when did you find that? …how did he know that? …how did she do that? It’s that cool thing you do that can’t be learned or taught but just is.

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why? The most interesting part of my job is getting to speak with people all over the world in all different types of job roles.

The quantity of dials and emails can be very tiring to execute and more so when you get faced with rejection. It's not how many times you stumble that resonates but how you get up and continue fighting.

  1. What is your NetSuite superpower?  I built a NetSuite CRM database of 200K people, and created over 150 saved searches that allowed me to slice and dice this database into industry verticals, company size, titles etc.

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why?  I enjoy trying to help people, or a firm, start the journey of finding a better and more efficient way of doing something.

  3. What’s your favorite remote working life-hack?  I do reps of crunches and pushups at various times of the day to help keep the circulation flowing!

  4. Which one of The Vested Group’s Core Values speaks to you the most and why?  Give Them Your Shirt: I love helping people! It is in my nature to try and help people, be it a coworker or a client.

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why? All of my projects are interesting.  I get to plan most of our parties. Everyone is happy and we always have fun.

  3. What’s your favorite remote working life-hack?  When I need to take a break I take my dogs on a quick walk around the block.  I get some fresh air and they get to burn off some energy!

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why? All of my projects are interesting.  I traveled with the consulting and operations team to do an on-campus demo. Witnessed an incredible wealth of knowledge and expertise delivered to the client.

  1. What is your work superpower? The ability to P.U.S.H. (Persevere Until Something Happens)    

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why? I assisted in the implementation of a new Inventory Management system for a client who was manually counting and entering over 500 SKUs. Being able to make their process more efficient was very rewarding.  

  3. What’s your favorite remote working life-hack?  Button down shirts, pajama pants, and task lighting. You can’t beat looking presentable AND being comfortable!

  4. Which one of The Vested Group’s Core Values speaks to you the most and why?  Appreciate that Failure Is Learning: The ability to take things in stride and continuously learn/grow is crucial to success!

  1. What is your NetSuite superpower?  Saved Search and Reporting is My NetSuite Super Power.  I rely heavily on data to make decisions and finding ways to measure the effects is critical.

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why?  The coolest project I have been on was building a reverse logistics solution for a technology recycler.  Learning the mechanics of the business was new and unexpected.

  3. What’s your favorite remote working life-hack?  My favorite remote working life hack has to be button-down shirts and shorts.  Just don’t pan down with the camera…..

  4. Which one of The Vested Group’s Core Values speaks to you the most and why? “Appreciate that Failure is Learning” speaks to me most.  Not being afraid to fail has been a learned behavior but one that has enabled the most growth for me.

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why?  Each project is different, getting to meet people at different companies and learn about unique challenges they face is my favorite part of my job.

  1. What is your Sales superpower?  Being able to keep the big picture in mind. In sales, you have to push through a lot of rejection before finding someone to say “Yes.”

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why?  I am at a stage in which every client is new and interesting. For me, its getting to the root of each client’s pain and understanding how their pain effects their day-to-day in order to determine how TVG fits into the solution.
      
  3. What’s your favorite remote working life-hack?  I found a really comfortable spot in my house that doesn’t show any of the chaos of my home in the frame.

  4. Which one of The Vested Group’s Core Values speaks to you the most and why?  “All In” speaks to me the most. I want to be part of a team in which my inner athlete comes out. That “in it together” mentality is motivating for me and pushes me to bring my best foot forward each and every day not only for myself, but for the person next to me.

  5. Why should a potential client work with The Vested Group?  The Vested Group practices what it preaches, which is a hard quality to find. Though many organization claim this, it’s rarely a reality.

  1. What is your NetSuite superpower?  I won't say my NetSuite knowledge is what it once was, but I know how to work with companies to achieve the benefits they desire.

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why?  Our client in the e-waste industry taught me more than normal - it opened my eyes to a global crisis that we are now impacting positively.

  3. What’s your favorite remote working life-hack? I've become an old man that loves to go on walks!

  4. Which one of The Vested Group’s Core Values speaks to you the most and why? Appreciate that Failure is Learning because I fail more than I care to admit!

  5. Why should a potential client work with The Vested Group?  The consulting industry is known for 15-20% attrition while ours is less than 2%.  A happy team equals happy clients.

  2. What’s the most interesting project you’ve worked on and why? Writing a business-fiction book with, Joel. The amount of moving parts and juggling that goes into book writing is mind boggling!

  3. What’s your favorite remote working life-hack? Get an ethernet cable so you don't have to rely on Wi-Fi!
